Answer Me This and a Weekend Photo Re-Cap

1. What’s something you intended to do today, but didn’t?

Um, everything? The only thing I really DID do was make a 7 hour road trip without killing anyone, or even yelling (very loudly). I didn’t even blog.

Wait. What?

No, actually, it’s 12:01 a.m. So when I wrote that first paragraph, technically I hadn’t blogged. But it’s a new day now! All productivity, all the time!

My manly husband, after he not only safely got us off the freeway after a blow-out, but also changed that there tire on the side of the busy 5 freeway.

The little hitchhikers. They look cute, but man, do they know how to trash a minivan.

2. What’s your favorite grilling recipe?

I don’t follow recipes. Honestly, I try, but usually I end up substituting something for something else and blah blah blah. However, my favorite thing to grill are veggie kabobs. Oh,don’t get me wrong, I really love grilled meat. But I’m no good at grilling it. Kevin does all that. But I’m pretty good at veggie kabobs. Too bad it’s midnight. I’d grill some right now.

3. What movie did you see most recently?

Funny, I’m supposed to review a couple of the same movies as Kendra. The last movie I saw in the theater was DisneyNature Bears. We thoroughly enjoyed it, although Zeke did ask when the mama bear was “going to eat already?”

The last adult movie I saw was the first Hobbit movie, at a super duper fancy schmancy movie theater in Daegu, South Korea.  I haven’t seen the others because a) I am a homebody, and b) they could have done it in one movie.  Really, they could have.

Me and my goddaughter and beloved niece, Gemma. It's beena year since I saw this girl, and yet she loves me like always. Love her.

4. Would you say your tendency is to over or under react to medical situations?

Under react, for sure. Just today, this conversation happened.

Kevin: Did you feel Gianna’s back? I think she might have a fever.
Me: She felt normal to me. But then, you always think the kids have a fever, and I never do.
Kevin: Pretty much.
Me: So there’s about a fifty/fifty chance she does, right?
Kevin: Yep.

FWIW: Today she didn’t.

5. Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube or roll it?

Squeeze. When I’m not doing crazy things like making my own toothpaste, that is. When a tube is involved, I’m messy and probably very annoying to my methodical husband. To his credit, he’s never said a word.

I keep meaning to try Dwija’s toothpaste recipe…  I have all the ingredients but only think of it when I brush first thing in the morning and again at night.  Neither of those times are conducive to recipes, however.

One of these days, though.  One of these days.

6. What did you do for Father’s Day?

We went to Half Moon Bay and spent time with my favorite South Korea family, plus my mom, dad, and 2 of my sisters.

My babies. Oh, my heart. So happy to squeeze these girls, and it felt like no time at all had passed since I saw them last.

The manliest men in my life: my husband and my dad. Gosh, I’m so grateful for these guys.

In other news:

Tomorrow I’ll be publishing the “How I Homeschool” interview with Kelly of This Ain’t the Lyceum. Make sure you come back for it, because I really love her perspective.  In case you missed the others, here they are in chronological order: My Interview with Myself, Jessica of Housewifespice, Annery at Home.

My cousin Joanne, who you all prayed for recently, just found out that she’s in remission!  Yippee!!!!!  Thanks for all the prayer love.  You’re the best.

Just for fun: Last week at the park:

Zeke: Mommy, Gabe was wrestling me down and I scraped my knee.
Me: Oh, are you hurt?
Zeke: a little bit. But I just don’t like when he wrestles me because he’s bigger than me and sometimes it hurts and then I cry and I’m sad and then we have to… SQUIRREL!!! {Runs away}

Best laugh all morning.

Okay, I gots to run.  It’s late, and even though we’re on SUMMER VACATION, the little ingrates refuse to sleep in.  Clickety click on over to Kendra’s for more questions and answers.
