Askew: Theme Thursday

Reasons my Whole Life is Askew (and Why You Might Feel Sorry for Me):

1. I have strep throat and tonsillitis.

2. Kevin has strep throat and tonsillitis.

3. On the day we came down with these awful maladies, we received 6,700 lbs of our household goods. (Not an estimate or an exaggeration; they weighed it for shipping purposes. Kev and I both think it’s very odd to know exactly how much crap stuff you own.)

4. I crazily thought that blogging 7 times in 7 days was a good idea.  Crazy, I tells ya.

5. I had to cancel a rare and fun overnight visit from my longest-time friend (from the womb, people!) and her beloved and their two babies due to said strep/tonsillitis.  BOO!

The Ultimate Equalizers (and Why You Don’t Have to Feel Sorry for Me After All):

1. I have the world’s most amazing in-laws who took all four of our kids for 2 consecutive days, cooked us meals, unpacked boxes and boxes of stuff, and just generally proved their awesomeness.

2.  My bed is here.  My amazing California King, the most comfortable bed in the world, complete with new satiny-soft sheets. Just. In. Time.

Stuff. They really do still ship it in wooden crates. Pretty cool, eh?

The bed of glory. Notice it got made before almost anything else was done.

So… it’s not my best work. But somehow the light coming through the window endears me to it. I have another one that is more “correctly” lit, but it’s so boring.

I’ve got nothing left in me, friends.  It’s bedtime ’round these parts.  Pray that these meds take action swiftly so I can get back on my feet again.

Joining Cari again for Theme Thursday vunderfullness.

  1. UGH! I hope you feel better soon! We ALL had strep throat this summer—all 7 of us. Miserable. Why does sickness always have to happen when MAJOR LIFE THINGS are happening? Unfair. 🙂

    Prayers for a speedy recovery.

  3. That’s the worst, being sick and needing to do something important like unpacking. And you know, keeping kids alive. Hope you feel better. And it totally makes sense your life is askew. I shudder to think how much stuff we would have.

    • A friend of mine went to the chiropractor and he mentioned all the stress she dealt with. She was a little confused, so he explained, “You have 2 kids, right? Keeping them alive is daily stress!” I have no idea why I didn’t realize that before. And yes, we feel better now.

  6. This is too much! I can’t believe debilitating illness as a finale to this whole thing, entirely too epic! At least you have your beautiful bed, absolutely no place on earth like your own bed.

God grant wellness to you all!

  7. Sick and moving? That sounds like a miserable combination! Moving alone is enough to leave you exhausted. I can’t believe you’re blogging too… you go girl! Hope you feel better soon.
