Every year, I try to commit to the 40 Bags in 40 Days campaign. I have grandiose dreams of becoming the De-cluttering Maven. And then life happens, and my distractedness happens, and Lent comes and goes with nary a bag in sight. The best laid plans, right?
I’m learning about myself, though. What makes me tick, what works for me. A deadline works for me. (They don’t call me Last Minute Lucy for nothing.) Community works for me. And accountability really works for me. Rather than give up the ghost of an idea of Spring Cleaning, I’m making it public and posting it here. Beginning this Saturday, and continuing Monday through Thursday of Holy Week, I’m going to complete daily task, and de-clutter one area of my home. I’m going to do it in under 1 hour, and I’m going to share it with you.
So who’s with me? Who needs a little recharge this final week of Lent? Who needs some extra redemptive suffering to up the ante of Holy Week? Who wants a somewhat cleaner home by Easter and a group of women (and men!) to do it with?
Holy Week Spring Clean Along
I’ll post a simple daily challenge the day before. So Saturday’s challenge will post on Friday, etc. You do it as you can, and comment or share what you were able to do. You can just come here daily to check the challenge, of course, or, if you are like me and will never remember to do that, you can sign up to receive my posts by email by filling out the form on the right sidebar. And you can always cancel it after the week is done if you want to de-clutter your inbox, too.
A rough schedule: (I reserve the right to change it as we go along.)
Wednesday: Living Room
Thursday: Nooks and crannies
Alright, fellow procrastinators. I think that’s about it. Please point out any glaring errors in my plan, will you? But do it nicely, of course. It is almost Holy Week, after all.
