If I could tell you one thing about my faith…

My faith is pretty obvious here on the blog.  When I started writing over 4 years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would be as Catholic as I wanted to be here, unapologetically. The reason being, I suppose, that I was always a little shy to share about my faith in other areas.  On social media, for example.

It’s not because I’m embarrassed of being a Catholic Christian.  Far from it.  It’s more that I just didn’t know how to share without looking self-righteous and pompous. A few weeks ago I came across a quote that made me say, “This. This is exactly what I want people to know.”

Evangelism is just one beggar telling another beggar where to by bread. ~ D.T. Niles (Photo credit)

When I was Catholic on Sundays but still living my life in any way I wanted during the week, I had a gnawing hunger. I don’t think I could have even told you what, if anything, was missing from my life. It wasn’t until I experienced a great loss that I remembered my childhood relationship with the Holy Trinity. In renewing that relationship, I was fed the Bread of Life. And I will never go hungry again.

That’s what I want every one of my friends to know.  That’s my evangelization! I don’t think I’m better than anyone out there.  Quite the opposite, in fact, because now I see my sins (trying to fill that gnawing hunger any old way I can) very clearly. Lucky for me, I know a Guy who feeds me the Good Stuff on the daily and He asked me to bring you over for dinner sometime. Consider this your invitation.
