3 Reasons, Vol 6

It’s the 6 month anniversary of 3 Reasons I Love Catholicism!  Have you linked up lately?  No? I’d love to have you back.  Check out the previous link-ups for more information on the hows and whys.

I’m taking the writing advice of Elmore Leonard via Simcha Fischer and leaving out the words readers skip.  Enjoy this month’s simple format.

God created the world to show forth and communicate his glory. That his creatures should share in his truth, goodness and beauty – this is the glory for which God created them. – Catechism of the Catholic Church, 319

A couple of Public Service Announcements:

Pope Francis calls for a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria: THIS Saturday, September 7.

Immaculée Ilibagiza will be speaking in Sacramento/Carmichael on November 9th, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.  Tickets available here.  I’m hoping to attend, so if you’re nearby and plan to go, let me know!

  1. I’m so glad I still have time to link up. This is one of my favorite link-up themes! I’ve been so unbelievably busy, but I have got to get working on a post for this one. Thanks for leaving the link open for so long! I love the simplicity of your post. The pictures are amazing.

  2. I was considering going to listen to Immaculée Ilibagiza speak in November, but then as I looked at my calendar I realized that I’m going to be at 37 weeks at that point. I’m not sure I want to make the drive and that I’m going to be able to sit that long… and I’m also not sure how I’d do emotionally either – pregnancy hormones towards the end of pregnancy can be so unpredictable! So, even though I’d love to hear her speak, I think that this is not the time for me. I hope you are able to go and that you post something about it! 🙂

  3. Micaela, I can’t find the linky thing here-did you close it? Am I too late? Here’s my contribution for this month! Thanks again for hosting this!
